I was 39 years old and living in Canberra, Australia (It's a terrible place to live)
I had no clue what I was doing and I had no consistent clients coming in regularly.
I had no steady stream of incoming as a result of not enough clients.
I was living in the worst city ever built in Australia and wanted more than anything to be able to afford to move to the seaside.
... and I had just spent a fortune trying to handle everything myself, thinking if I just worked harder and longer hours, I could make it work.
It proved to be one of the most disappointing things I have ever done.
This meant I couldn't scale my business reliably and consistently enough to bring in the money I needed to finally move.
There's a stupid myth out there...that doing everything yourself is somehow noble and all you need to do is work harder and longer hours to succeed.
... Well it's the worst advice out there and does more harm than anything else...

Dan Sullivan had literally written the book on this concept - explaining how top performers focus on finding the right people, not doing everything themselves.

Well this got me thinking, these were people just like me, no difference.
